APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS

(1) Who can apply?

On condition of being a final year high school student or being a high school graduate;

a) Foreign nationals,

b) Turkish citizens by birth but who ceased to be a citizen of Türkiye with the permission of the Ministry of Internal Affairs; and the under aged children of such people who are registered in their parent’s document of alienage and can certify that they have the “Certificate Regarding the Exercise of Rights Given by Law” which is obtained in accordance with the Turkish Nationality Law, (The 7th article of the Turkish Nationality Law numbered 5901 prescribes that “(1) an infant born from the marriage of a mother or a father having Turkish citizenship inside or outside Türkiye is a Turkish citizen”; applicants who would like to apply for the quotas of foreign admission should further review the Turkish Nationality Law.)

c) Former foreign nationals who acquired Turkish citizenship afterwards; and dual citizens who comply with these criteria,

d) (1) - Those who are Turkish nationals who have been continuing their secondary education in a foreign country before 01.02.2013 and have completed the last three years of their secondary education (high school) in a foreign country other than the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) (including the ones who have completed their secondary education (high school) in Turkish schools opened by the permission of the Ministry of National Education which are located in foreign countries other than the TRNC),

(2) - Turkish nationals who have started their secondary education in a foreign country after 01.02.2013 and have completed their entire secondary education (high school) in a foreign country other than Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), (including the ones who have completed their secondary education (high school) in Turkish schools opened by the permission of Ministry of National Education which are located in Foreign countries other than the TRNC),

(2) Who cannot apply?

a) Those who are Turkish Citizens and have completed their entire high school education in Türkiye or the T.R.N.C. (Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus),

b) (Varied – Senate: 07/06/2018-V) Who are T.R.N.C. Citizens,

c) Those who have dual nationalities while the first nationality is Turkish by birth as defined in the sub clause (b), Paragraph 5, Clause 5 and those, who have completed their entire high school education in a foreign country other than the T.R.N.C. (except those who have completed their entire high school education in a Turkish school in a foreign country other than the T.R.N.C.),

d) Those who have dual nationalities and either of them is the T.R.N.C. (except those who have completed their entire high school education in T.R.N.C. high schools and have the GCEAL test score and those who have registered in a college or high school in other countries between 2005 – 2010 and received education in these schools and have or will have the GCEAL test score),

e) Those who are Turkish citizens and have studied in schools within the body of embassies in Türkiye or are Turkish citizens or have dual nationalities while the first nationality is Turkish by birth as defined in the sub clause (b), Paragraph 5, Clause 5 and have studied in one of the foreign high schools located in Türkiye.

(3) Candidates can choose maximum 7 (seven) departments or programs in their applications.
